Fine Arts and Fun!

At ZAS, we love to share our love of literature, music, art, and history. It is our hope to build a lifelong appreciation of these areas that will enrich our students' lives now and in their future.

Literature

By sharing great books and plays with our students, we hope that we will inspire them to be life-long readers. In the upper grade classroom, the students also get to read and act out Shakespeare plays.

Music and Performance

At ZAS there are many opportunities to enjoy music, creativity, and performance. As well as participation in music class, our students all have the opportunity to perform at annual events such as Education Sabbath, our Christmas nativity play, Valentine's Spaghetti Dinner Vespers program, the Ohio Conference Music Festival, and our Graduation and Awards Evening.

Art

With part of her bachelor's degree in art, Mrs. Hoover loves to share an appreciation of art with her students. In our curriculum, students get to create pieces of work in a variety of mediums, as well as learn about many different artists from van Gogh to Joan Miro. Our students have also had their artwork featured at the Muskingum County K-12 Student Art Exhibition at the Zanesville Museum of Art.

History Comes to Life!

With a master's and bachelor's degree in history, Mr. Hoover enjoys sharing his love of the subject in a unique way by dressing up in character and sharing artifacts and information from the time.
